matt-ruchtyFormer professional and collegiate hockey player Matt Ruchty joined the NexGoal team as the franchise owner in West Michigan.

As owner/operator, Matt will meet with the hiring managers to profile specific positions, utilize resources from PCR to social media to expand the candidate pool, and identify, attract, and qualify candidates for the positions. Additionally, he will network, research, and establish the market and identify major players in that industry as part of business development.

Ruchty was a professional hockey player for ten years, spending time with the New Jersey Devils and Vancouver Canucks organizations. He played in the AHL, IHL and UHL, and served as a member of the Professional Hockey Players Association (PHPA) executive committee. He completed his hockey career as an assistant coach with the Detroit Red Wings ECHL affiliate team.

For the last ten years, Matt has worked in the automotive finance and marketing industry for Wells Fargo Auto Finance, Classified Ventures/ and General Motors Financial. His responsibilities have included prospecting and developing new relationships, holding training seminars, sales of new products, account management, renewals and contract funding. This experience will translate into business development as a NexGoal franchisee.
Born and raised in Kitchener, Ontario, he attended Bowling Green State University on a full hockey scholarship studying Health and Physical Education. Matt served as a co-captain of the Falcon hockey team as a senior and was a member of three NCAA tournament teams.

Matt currently lives in Rockford, Michigan with his wife Patty and their five children: Mitch, Morgan, Madison, Myles, and Macy.
